HISTORY:
8 Block is a neighborhood-based faction rooted in Lower Price Hill, Cincinnati. Their name comes from West 8th Street, one of the main roads connecting Downtown Cincinnati to the city's West Side. West 8th Street runs from downtown through Lower Price Hill before climbing the hill into East Price Hill and West Price Hill.
Despite its name, Lower Price Hill sits below the surrounding hills. It lies beneath East and West Price Hill and is one of the closest West Side neighborhoods to Downtown Cincinnati, making it a major route between downtown and the West Side.
8 Block's primary territory centers around West 8th Street and State Avenue, with 2100 State Avenue serving as one of their main claimed locations. Members are commonly seen posted around State Avenue and West 8th Street, where they spend time, socialize, and maintain a strong presence in the neighborhood.
The faction is known simply as 8 Block, with the name representing both the stretch of West 8th Street they claim and the community they come from in Lower Price Hill.
GANGS: STATE BABIES "SB"
State Babies (SB) is the homegrown gang of 8 Block, originally founded in Lower Price Hill, Cincinnati. SB is the primary and original gang that represents and controls 8 Block, with deep roots in the neighborhood and its history. Members are expected to represent the block, protect their territory, and uphold the reputation of State Babies through serious, realistic roleplay.
In addition to State Babies, Tree Top Piru and Grape Street Crips also have a presence on 8 Block. While these sets operate within the neighborhood, State Babies remains the dominant and original gang of 8 Block. All factions should roleplay according to their history, alliances, rivalries, and server rules while maintaining realistic interactions.
ALLIANCES: 84, 33, 54, Exit 5
8 Block is allied with 84, 33, 54, and Exit 5. Cincinnati has always been known as a mixy city, where different neighborhoods have had changing relationships throughout the years.
A major connection is between Lower Price Hill and Up Top (the neighborhoods located on the hill, including East Price Hill and West Price Hill). In the past, Lower Price Hill and Up Top were not always on good terms due to neighborhood differences and past tensions. Over time, those relationships changed, leading to stronger connections and mutual respect between the areas.
These alliances represent the history, relationships, and connections between different Cincinnati neighborhoods and the communities that surround them.
RIVALRIES: Down The Way
8 Block's main rivalry is with Down The Way (DTW), located in Downtown Cincinnati. The tension between Lower Price Hill and DTW comes from the history and differences between the two areas.
Both DTW and Lower Price Hill have ties to Grape Street Crips, creating a complicated history between the two sides. The presence of Grape Street Crips in both areas has led to conflicts and disagreements over territory, identity, and neighborhood relationships.
Along with DTW, 8 Block has other conflicts throughout Cincinnati that are still developing. These rivalries are based on neighborhood history, past tensions, and the relationships between different communities across the city.
TALENTS: MUSIC
8 Block has a strong connection to music and local talent, with many members using music as a way to represent their neighborhood and share their experiences. The culture of Lower Price Hill has played a role in shaping the sound and creativity coming from the area.
One of the known artists connected to 8 Block is Presi, a rapper from the neighborhood who represents Lower Price Hill through his music. His work helps bring attention to the area and showcases the stories, lifestyle, and experiences that come from 8 Block.
Music remains an important part of 8 Block's identity, with local artists continuing to represent where they come from and put their neighborhood on the map.
NEW GENERATION: YN'S
The new generation of Cincinnati has brought a major change to the city's street culture. Across different neighborhoods, younger generations have become more involved in conflicts, with more issues involving violence, neighborhood rivalries, gang activity, and conflicts over money.
As the city continues to change, many younger individuals have created their own identities and movements while some have caused divisions by switching sides and creating new tensions between neighborhoods.
Despite the changes happening throughout Cincinnati, Lower Price Hill has remained loyal to its roots and continues to represent its own community. While 8 Block stays connected to its neighborhood and the people around them, they also have ongoing conflicts and disagreements with other areas throughout the city.
